No one reads Herbert Rosendorfer, whose matryoshka-esque novel The Architect of Ruins—with its cast of 600 nuns, dildo-brandishing dwarves, conmen, cannibals, and psychotic psychics—was recently reissued by Dedalus. Summing up Rosendorfer’s work, a reviewer in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung writes that “Herbert Rosendorfer is a German writer.
